W.W. Greener 450 Nitro 3 ¼”, circa 1903/04

Here is a fine little W.W. Greener 450 Rigby aka 450 3 ¼” Nitro Express. This rifle was ordered in 1903 and finished in 1904. It was built on the Facile Princeps action the Greener is famous for complete with Greener’s trademark side safety and crossbolt. The barrels are 27” in length. It is a RTF40 grade. The R stands for Rifle, the T for Extractos and the F for Facile Princeps. The 40 is the original (1903) purchase price of 40 guineas.

Although we would love to keep the gun entirely “vintage” it needs some restoration in enough areas that the decision to fully restore it was made. It will be in the tradition of the finest English gun houses.
