Henry Atkin from Purdey 12 bore SL, circa 1902
Not much is known about this little long barreled beauty other than it was built in 1902 for a Frenchman named R. LeStrange. It is an early Atkin with the statement that many makers leaving Purdey used, “________ from Purdey” across the belly. The gun was found with a snapped stock at the wrist. It was a very old break showing much wear from being moved around over the years. In fact the break had more wear than the gun. It still has traces of colors and the engraving is very sharp. A candidate for restocking if ever there was one. The restocking was entrusted to Craig Libhart.
